For U6,U7,U8 the deadline is August 1st 2011. Registration is $60 for all ages through U14, with a $10 sibling discount. Checks must be written out to Berlin Youth Soccer, with the name of the player (s) being registered. For NEW U10, U12,U14 and U16 players please complete the ONLINE uniform order as part of the registration, uniform cost is $35. We have planned a Berlin Youth Soccer night at Gillette Stadium to go watch the New England Revolution take on the Chicago Fire on Saturday June 18th at 7:30 p.m. We hope to make this a great night for everyone, and the Revolution have offered us a discounted price to come out and watch some professional soccer!

Girls district 6 select soccer tryouts will be held in at the Mass youth soccer fields in Lancaster. They will be held the next 2 Saturdays. The district select program runs from U12-U19 in single age brackets based on birth year. (ie U19 (1990 & 1991); U17 (1992); U16 (1993);U15 (1994); U14 (1995); U13 (1996); U12 (1997 & 1998)) The soccer program runs from July 12th - August 9. On August 8 & 9th, the season ends in a tournament on that Saturday and Sunday. Many the coaches are low key and make the soccer fun for the kids. Massachusetts Soccer suffers another terrible loss to its community. John Burrill, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association ( Mass Youth) located in Lancaster MA, passed away in his sleep Saturday March 27, 2009. John has been involved in youth soccer for over forty years. In his position as Executive Director for Mass Youth, John has been a key force for the many successes implemented since his appointment. With great pride John could be seen walking the new fields at Lancaster, never missing an event. With his immense knowledge of soccer and its' rules John was the person to consult with questions dealing with soccer. He always was approachable and responsive. One always knew where you stood as John spoke his mind. It might not have been the answer you were looking for, but it was fair and correct. John was a mentor, teacher, leader, but most of all a friend. He will be sadly missed. |

All, We have just completed the revamping of the Berlin Youth Soccer Web site to add useful content and improve access speed. We are no longer using the LeagueLineup website and now have our own domain name - www.berlinyouthsoccer.com. As with the old webpage you can find the Spring registration form, we are still looking for more players to fill our teams. We are short of players in the U10, U12, and U14 age groups which will impact our ability to field teams - we have a league deadline of 1/18 to submit our team numbers. The NVYSL board debated a proposal to address the problem of blowouts where the goal differential exceeds 7. There were 25 of these blowout games in the U10 age division which was roughly 5% of the games. The final disposition of this issue is to include a warning in the coaches pledge to state that winning by 7 or more goals is not acceptable and must be avoided. This will be discussed at the 2009 Berlin Coaches Meeting which will be scheduled in March. The board also discussed the new policy for having all Referee assignors certified by the state due to liability issues, referees and towns are not covered by liability insurance unless their assignor is state certified. NVYSL will help cover the cost of the initial certification and it is the goal of the NVYSL league to have all town assignors certified by 2010. David Yildiz President BYSA |
